Traffic was moving again today on the Confederation Bridge (which connects PEI to New Brunswick.)
The bridge (which is 13 kilometeres long) had been closed to high-sided vehicles, buses, tractor trailers, etc., since early Friday morning because of high winds.
The restrictions were the longest period of time that crossings have been limited due to wind since the bridge opened in May 1997!
Late Saturday afternoon, winds in the Northumberland Strait were measuring 100 km/h, with gusts of up to 133 km/h.
A wiener could blow away in winds that high!! Thankfully, it has calmed down enuf for the kritterkins to enjoy a later afternoon walk!
