Santa Paws Found Us!

Our Christmas stash! Santa Paws brought us new sweaters, shampoo, pee pads, & Snausages & Puperoni treats & a squishy toy for each of us!

Schatzi, wearing a bow on her head!

An adorable dachshund ornament, received by our hooman sister from her BF's Mom! Isn't it the best?

Oh & Mama's bestest friend gave her this singing dachshund!

When you squeeze his paw, he sings Christmas songs, his ears go up & down and the bell on his tail wiggles!

And what Christmas would be complete without a visit to the V.E.T. This is Oskar, on his way to have his ears checked. The diagnosis was an ear drops were prescribed & he is much more comfortable now.

We hope you all had a Pawsome Christmas!!

Mama Won A Bouquet of Flowers!!

It appears Mama is on a winning streak! A few nights ago, a local hardware store held an evening "Ladies Night", with lots of demonstrations & ballots to complete for door prizes!

Well, Mama's name was drawn & she received a beautiful bouquet from Bernadette's Flower Shop.

Hmmm...we thinks she needs to be buying lottery tickets!!

Busy Being Us!

Since Schatzi has made a full recovery, from whatever it was that made her gland swell up, the humans decided it was time for our "pre-Christmas" baths"!

Can I have some of that smelly stuff on me, Mom?

Oskar, not quite so enthused!

Schatzi, looking for her bath sponge!

Later, when everyone had dried completed, it was time for a walk about the block to see a few of the decorations in the neighbourhood.

Xena prefers the view from here!

Happy Holidays!

A couple of "reindeer" hanging out!

Hmmm, spose there's any toys for us in that sleigh?

Well, hey it's Miss Ellie!!

Santa Claus & Frosty the Snowman!!!

Frosty's brother, perhaps?

The reason for the season...a beautiful Nativity scene

And Mr & Mrs Claus sharing a smooch!

Hope you enjoyed our tour about town! It was getting pretty cold, so we headed for home & a snuggle by the fire!

Schatzi Update

We are seeing improvement in Schatzi.. the gland appears to thankfully be decreased in size. She still has difficulty swallowing, but able to eat (she is a doxie, after all!).
Warm compresses are being applied every few hours along with pain & anti-inflammatory meds.

She will undergo a re-check likely within a couple of days.

It's Been One of those Weeks!!

Schatzi spent most of the week in & out of the dreaded V.E.T. hospital! Firstly, she showed signs of severe lethargy; then things started to go her left eye started to swell & weep. On Tuesday she underwent prelimary blood & urine tests. Early indications led us to believe a serious health issue was looming....especially when a large lump appeared within 24 hours.

Today, x-rays & a biopsy was performed on that nasty lump...which proved to be a swollen lymph gland! An anti-inflammatory & pain meds have been administered & prescribed for the weekend & a re-check will be done on Monday.
Mama, Dad and our hooman sister were extremely relieved that the prelimiary tests proved cancer was being investigated. Early indicators showed perhaps this was a concern.

Thank dawg that is not the case & while Schatzi appreciated the hospitality at the 5 star V.E.T. accomodations, she is very happy to be home & snuggled tightly beside her Dad!

And Mama is thinking she has a few more gray hairs to cover!

Relatives...You Can't Pick Em!

Mama and our hooman sister, took a road trip today to transport Bailie, a springer spaniel in foster care & visit our other hooman sister & family...we thought we would share pictures of our four legged relatives.

Firstly, this is Bailie....she is a pawsome girl...who needs a quiet, retirement home. Isn't she beautiful? She doesn't like having her picture taken though.

Introducing Diego....he's a big boy, but sweet as can be!

And this beautiful belle, is Abby!

And last, but not least.....Tara...the resident kitty!

Out & About

We loaded up the kritterkins in the truck & drove into the heart of the city for a walk-about! Tonight was the Santa Claus Parade, but it was too noisy, crowded & cold for us to stay and watch.

Oskar is Dad's trusty co-pilot!

Schatzi is second-in-command...ever on the look-out for an elusive kitty.....

Xena is in charge of having a nap on the way!

And we're off! We parked behind the Superstore & walked around the block!
It was really busy, as people were lining up to watch the parade!

Oskar's got cold, so he snuggled inside Dad's jacket!

Schatzi's bum got so cold, we decided to herd everyone home & snuggle by the fire.

Lots of people were enjoying music and floats!
