Hard to believe Liesel is 11 months old today....almost all grown up!! Here's our favourite wire girl face...
She was just shy of her 4 month b'day when she arrived...just in time for one of our snowiest winters! But we made it through the storms, spay surgery, puppy classes & obedience lessons. When you're a puppy...everything is a new experience & now with grass & new sights & sounds...she is a busy girl. We enjoy our daily walks (not in the rain..thank u very much)..car rides, chewing roasted marrow bones & playdates with Benson.
What little down time she has during the day...she likes to spend it snuggling with Mama!

Oskar visited the room of doom yesterday...everyone at the clinic were very happy to see him & treated him like royalty. If you call having your nails clipped, blood sucked & pee stolen...treated like royalty.
Oskar's liver & kidney enzyme counts were very high...Dr. Condon explained the high liver enzyme count could be a result of the prednisone medication...we are stopping that immediately. As well as the Atopica....although he doesn't think it is affecting the counts...but it's better to cope with skin issues than failing organs.
He will continue to take kidney medication & a powder sprinkled on his food....and we will re-assess in two weeks...hopefully these measures will reduce the high counts. Otherwise, Oskar is looking & feeling okay...still eating well...enjoys going for nightly strolls...so we are keeping our paws crossed.
At 14 1/2 ....every day is a blessing.

This is Liesel & Mama's favourite hang out...but a certain wire hair feels the need to "jump"...and we weren't having any of that.
Dad built her a perfectly good ramp...but she preferred to chew the wood...silly girl!
So Mama brought home the steps & Liesel caught on to using them quickly. We would rather use a ramp...as steps are not that great on dachshund's backs....but they are better than years of wear & tear from jumping.

So, Dad was carrying in the groceries the other day...& I was such a big help...
Need another paw there, Dad?
We've been on patrol keeping tree rats & crows off the property....it's good to go to bed tired...
Oskar leaves a bit of the security detail to the "new" kid...
