This & That

Mama is home with us this week (looking a bit like a chipmunk....but don't tell her we said so!)recovering from dental surgery!
Xena is feeling better these days, the Clomicalm and Aprazolam (sedative) seem to be helping...thankfully she is much more relaxed. Poor doll, she was in a dreadful state of anxiety & confusion. We think the D.A.P. system is helping too....

Oh...and more of that white stuff coming our way this week....a "blizzard" was the word being tossed around! And it is cold, cold, cold....waaaay too cold for wieners to venture far away from the potty park in the back yard.

And before we forget...we want to thank our hooman sister & BF Nathan for taking such great care of us while Mama & Dad were away...and just so everyone knows....we can be bought with donut balls!!

What is D.A.P.?

D.A.P. (Dog Appeasing Pheromone) is a system that mimics the natural pheromones of a lactating female dog. Within three to five days after giving birth, the female generates pheromones that give their puppies a sense of well-being and reassurance, known as appeasing pheromones.

Because some dogs experience anxiety and/or stress, the D.A.P. diffuser system is often prescribed by veterinarians. It works simiiar to a Glade plug in! The refills are renewed about every 4 weeks.

Our veterinairan prescribed the system, along with medications to relieve Xena of her anxiety issues. She appears to be a bit more settled, but it will take a while for everything to come together.

PeeS - Mama is undergoing a *dental* of sorts, so we won't be blogging for a few days! And......another major snow storm expected tomorrow....but we're not worried, our hooman sister & our good buddy Nathan will take good care of us while Mama & Dad are away! Stay warm everyone!!

Life Lessons Learned from a Dachshund

1. If you stare at someone long enough... eventually you'll get what you want.

2. Don't go out without ID.

3. Be direct with people; let them know exactly how you feel - pee in their shoes.

4. Be aware of when to hold your tongue and when to use it.

5. Always Leave room in your schedule for a good nap.

6. Give people a friendly greeting. A cold nose in the crotch is most effective.

7. When you do something wrong, always take responsibility.
(as soon as you're dragged from under the bed).

8. If it's not wet & sloppy, it's not a real kiss!!

It Sux to be Me!

Hi efurbody!! This is Xena here....and lately I've having some "issues". Like roaming the house at night, crying for no reason, not pottying where I'm supposed ta.....well, you get the picture.

So, today I had a heart to heart with Dr. Condon...and after much poking, prodding, draining all my blood...and a good bum squeeze (mine...not Dr. Condon's) Clomicalm was prescribed. Now, in case you aren't aware Clomicalm is prescribed for doggie depression & anxiety. See.....I haven't been sleeping very well..okay not much at all & gals my age need all their beauty rest. I'll tell you if the meds work.....in the morning....I'm feeling veeery sleeepy! *yawn*

Night all!
