We Took our Tails to the Trails

This is what our weatherman calls sun....



We parked behind the University of Prince Edward Island



And walked our tails off on the trail....





We stopped to admire these gorgeous race horses...grazing in the field





And enjoy some pretty wildflowers



After a much needed cold drink..we headed home for a long afternoon nap!



We'll be glad when Monday comes....so we can get some rest!!

Dog Fancy August Issue

Mama was doing her happy dance at the mailbox the other day!! August issue of Dog Fancy arrived....and a gorgeous wirehair is on the cover! (remind you of anyone?)

This issue has great tips for caring & stimulating your senior dog....

A Time to Paws & Reflect

Since it was overcast today, we loaded up the kritterkins & decided to stroll about an area of the city known as "Olde Charlottetown". First stop was, Beaconsfield. Built in 1877 for a wealthy shipbuilder & merchant, Beaconsfield is a historic Victorian home.

With twenty-five rooms & eight fireplaces Beaconsfield was one of Charlottetown’s finest homes. Nowadays, it's open for tours & special events in its Carriage House.

Beaconsfield is also where the tv series
"Emily of New Moon" (a sequel to Anne of Green Gables) was filmed..

Charlottetown is known as the "Birthplace of Confederation"...it's where
this great nation of ours all began!



Canada's first Prime Minister, elected in 1867...Sir John A. Macdonald stopped to have his photo taken with us! (well, he's is an actor in character...there are a
number of actors who stroll the city in the summertime, giving tours & chatting with tourists).



Mixing the old in with the new....this is where our
Dad earns his kibble! Across the street from Beaconsfield!



As we strolled along, we admired a few of the
beautiful Victorian mansions...





But, as usual...we saved the best for last!!

A Weanie Roast!!!

Horrors of horrors!! The hoomans had a weenie roast!!




We are happy to report that we are safe
...it was wieners of another kind!! Phew!!

Schatzi is Home & Recovering

A little whoozy...but she did manage to eat a bit of canned food. Her dental went well, she did unfortunately have four toofies removed.

A very special thank you to Jillian at Abegweit Animal Hospital for taking extra special care of Schatzi....

Someone is Having Dental Surgery Tomorrow!!

Ssshhh.....Miss Schatzi is having her pearly whites
cleaned tomorrow & will spend the day at the dreaded V.E.T. hospital!

We will just keep that info between us, ok?

A Herd of Wieners Came to Visit Us!!

Our friend & rescue volunteer, Arvilla came to
visit with a doxie herd!

This is "Wonder Woman"...as we think of her....of Arvilla....she is a pawsome rescuer!



This is Auntie Pat carrying Miss Joy...who came into rescue two years ago...transported to PEI by Auntie Pat! Joy was very, very overweight then....
now she is a svelte 10 lbs (and never left her foster Mama....she lives with
Arvilla & family, along with Foster and Bennie!

This shrub is a "Smoke" bush....when it blooms...
it looks like puffy balls of smoke...berry pretty



And this is Mama's "Red Prince Weigela"....
there are two pink ones too!





Dad's latest garden project...a great spot
for hosta and some pretty annuals.

Summer is Here!!

What a pawsome Canada Day weekend!!! We had so much fun outside, watching our hoomans paint the decks, storage shed & enjoy bar-b-quing, strawberry shortcakes & swimming in our pool!
