BLIZZARD WARNING FOR PEI
How do they expect doxies to pee in a blizzard? This is our weather forecast for today….we live in Queens County...
Warnings
4:26 AM ADT Wednesday 26 March 2014
Blizzard warning in effect for:
Queens County P.E.I.
Heavy snow and widespread blowing snow developing today.
This is a warning that blizzard conditions with near-zero visibilities are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.
A low pressure system developing off the U.S. seaboard is forecast to intensify rapidly as it tracks toward the Maritimes today. The storm is expected to track east of Cape Breton Island tonight before moving on to Newfoundland on Thursday.
Snow is forecast to begin late this morning and then taper to flurries overnight tonight. The snow will change to rain over Kings County this evening then change back to snow overnight. Northeast winds will steadily increase during the day and will gust up to 110 km/h by this evening. These very strong winds combined with heavy snow will cause widespread whiteout conditions in blowing snow. In general 30 to 50 centimetres of snow is expected across the island however given the extensive blowing and drifting snow there could be significant variability in snow amounts received within any forecast region.
Additionally higher than normal water levels are expected later tonight mainly on the north shore. This may combine with increasing wave activity to give local flooding along parts of the shore. If forecast conditions worsen a storm surge warning may be required.

Oskar-Update
Oskar & Schatzi made a trip to the dawgtor this week…(Schatzi was just getting a pawdicure). Oskar has some pee stolen & tested & the protein level is higher than a month ago, so he will continue with medication & ASA, most likely life-long. We will test again in 6 months.
Dr. Condon was very pleased & impressed with his back progression…if you were not aware he was down two months ago….you would never know. We see it, because he still stumbles & is wobbly from time to time…but for the most part…he is as good as it is ever going to get. And that is okay with us!
Gorgeous day here today, so we are off for a walk (and sling ride)!

An Enjoyable Outing….
Finally, we are out of the deep freeze & taking advantage of the warmer temps…our first "official" walk of 2014 and since Oskar's back issue...
He actually liked being out & about…and didn't mind the sling at all….
Lady in pink…
The snow is melting…
The "other" Oskar in our neighbourhood…barking us a friendly hello…
Hope is nice where you are today!!

Oskar-Acupuncture & Update
Oskar underwent another acupuncture session this week…..Kelly & Jessica, the paw some vet techs & Dr. Garrett report he does really well…he actually just lays down & chills out. We are very happy with the treatments, crate rest & pain meds & are aware what mobility he has gained, will likely be as good as it gets. And that is fine with us…he can stand & walk…albeit wobbly & can take care of potty business 100%.
We are hoping it warms enough enough to bundle him up in the Outward Hound sling & take them both out for a trek around the neighbourhood. Because of the snow & cold, Schatzi has only been out for a couple of walks all winter. They are getting "shack happy" & need some fresh air.
Have a paw some weekend efurbuddy!!
