V.E.T. Re-Check
Ok, so...I'm back from, yet again - another visit to the "House or Horrors" - on the pretense that it's going to be a simple howdy-do visit!
Well...you know how you can never trust these shifty vets-they are always looking for a reason to poke & prod! And this visit was no different!
Good news & bad news. The good news first....my butt fection is all cleared up! (butt (hahahaha-no pun intended!) it will be an on-going-so I have my very own special medicated bum wipes!!) More good news (if your own medicated bum wipes isn't enough good news for one day!!) ....one eye is improved muchly....the other, not so much. So, Mr. V.E.T. says I still have to get drops, in both eyes...from now til the cows come home!
Does anybody know when that will be? And where have the cows gone, anyways? And what do they have to do with my eyes?? Stay tuned.....I feel a mystery unfolding!

Celebrating Summer!
With New dog beds!!!
Oskar's bed is turquoise & was accompanied by a bag of Pupperonie treats! Xena's is velour, soft cream & pink floral & Schatzi's is velour, Saige & pink floral! Xena & Schatzi's new beds came with new blankies & squeakie toys!
I think much needed spa days are in order before the new beds are slept in!

Back from the Celebration!!
And we travelled in style!!
The Birthday Cake! It was very hot outside for Grampie's celebration, but close friends & family ((and us!!!) enjoyed snacks of fresh fruit, cheese & crackers, punch & scrumptious cake & ice cream!
Our Nani & Grampie!!!
Yummm....what pawsome cake!
We stopped in a shady area in St. John on our way to Nani & Grampie's, for a chance to stretch our paws and sniff some unchartered terrtory!
We are veeery tired doxiekins & in need of much deserved naps!

Double Whammy!!!
This is Xena here....I don't often have much to say, but when I do - ya know it's portant!!
Today started off like any other Monday. There I was, minding my own business, just snugglin' in for an afternoon snoozle.
When, the next thing you know - I'm sitting at the V.E.T.!!! I mean...can you imagine my horror! And for what?? A gal of my age can't scooch her butt around the floor without someone getting all in a snit & hauling me off to the "House of Horrors!!!"
And what that nasty, V.E.T. did to me.....I shudder now to think of it, let alone share the gory details with ya'll. Seems I gots a bacterial fection in my butt! Did ya ever hear of such a thing?? They made that up...I know they did! Just to put me thru the humilitation of having my butt probed!!!
Then, if that wasn't enuf misery, Mama just "happens" to pick that time to mention my eye crustys!! It's like picking on one end isn't enuf for these people! The low down V.E.T.then sticks these paper thingeys - IN MY EYES - and then expects me to make tears!! Hmph!!! Boy, if only I had teeth.....I woulda showed him!! Anyhoo, my tear making thingys is broken...so now I have not one but TWO kinda drops to fix that problem!
Just look at the bag of goodies the V.E.T. insisted I have! Pffft!!
Now, ya'll are thinking how much worse can it get, right? Well, hold on to your peeners (if ya have peeners!) cause then (shudder) I had a spa day at a new groomers! Seems Mama and her "friend" didn't quite make enuf mess of me....they had to call in the professionals!!
I was stripped of my matts, underwent an extensive pawdicure, & dipped in the pool of liquid nitrogen with some icky smelling stuff!!!
It's enuf to make a senior gal turn gray!!!

Busy Weekend!
Since we had amazing weather, we were up early & headed off to pick up a load of black mulch-needed for the walkway perennials!
Wow!! That's some load of mulch!!
Can I help Dad? Huh?? Can I??
Oh, the nice man in the dozer is gonna help us! Thanks, Mister!!!
Now, while the hoomans are busy spreading that stuff around, it's time for our morning siesta!!
Xena is soopervising painting of the pool deck!!! (the Soopervisor's job is verry stressful!!)
Finally, after three weekends spent staining.....the pool deck is painted!!!
The new walkway is completed too!!!

We Went to the Recycle Depot!!
Since it's been raining here fur-ever! this morning - we had a bit of sun & decided to help Dad go to the Recycle Depot!
Ok, Dad this is the last two bags!!
All loaded and ready to take off!
Ladies first........
Pilot to co-pilot....
Schatzi checking the controls....all systems are a go!
As you can tell from this windmill at the Sanitation site - it's a blustery morning!
Here we are, entering GreenIsle Waste Mangement!
Some people are already there, putting in their recycle-ables!
This line-up is for hazardous waste disposal....we leave ours on the back lawn!
And on the way home, we saw some hardworking volunteers, building storage sheds to sell for Habitat for Humanity!
It was good to be us today-we got to get out instead of watching the rain from the inside!
(and guess what? It's raining again!!!)
