My Early Morning Walk....

Since the weather has finally turned warmer...my walks are taken either early morning or later in the evening...when it's cooler.

Come join me...on my early morning walk, we are going to the trail.  (the trails were former railway tracks...now the trails (called the Confederation Trail) expand pretty much Island wide.  In the summer months walkers, joggers, bikers and dogs with their peeps walk the trail and during the snowy months snowmobilers ride the trails.

So...let's get started.  Here we are....still on the sidewalk by my house...

Just a sec...something here needs closer inspection...ok...nothing of importance...

So after a short distance...we turn onto the trail...my favourite part...
right about now we met a"not too friendly" poodle...we kept on moving...

We gotta take a few minutes and enjoy the lupins....they smell so awesome...

My second favourite part is stopping for a rest on this bench (I know they put it there just for me). It was still damp from the morning dew...so we didn't paws for a break...

Right about now is a good time for a refreshment break.  I drink straight from my own water bottle...no special fancy dancy thingeys needed....(well maybe Dad's hand to help a bit).

And now...back on the sidewalk...you can see my paw prints on the concrete...they'll be gone when the sun comes out...sadly.

Benson Has an Owie!!!

You all know my best buddy Benson (my brother from another mother.....and father)....

It appears he didn't get his hiney through the storm door fast enough....and horrors of horrors...the door shut on his tail!!  He was rushed to the room of doom...and Dr. Condon fixed him up good (and Benson insists his bandage is red....not pink...*wink*).  And to make matters worse....he is "forced" to wear the cone of shame!!  Poor boy...I'm here for you buddy & your tail will be better in no time & we can get back to important stuff like wrestling, going for walks & surfing in the pool!!

First Swim of the Summer!!

The weather here has been grrreat!  So that means it's pool time!!  I saw Dad in the pool...and I whined till Mama strapped my floater vest on...and here I am paddling my paws off!  It sure felt good to cool off!!!

S' Up?

Hey...it's me Liesel!  Whatcha all been doing?  I've been keeping busy...I like to take my Dad for long walks..and go in the car...and bark at people.  (that last one...I like to do.... a lot).

It's been cold & rainy here...not my most favourite kind of weather...as the dachshund in me...hates rain!  (the rest of me doesn't much like it either).

And I like to play with my friend, Shelby...she lives next door.  She's a lot bigger than me...but we have fun together.

Mama likes to brag she finally has me on a feeding schedule...little does she know....I have her on my schedule.  It took her a while to figure out...I'm not a fan of plain kibble.  But when she finally started adding a bit of dehydrated raw patty (Orijen) to my kibble....I come on the dead run for meal times!  It's been a couple of months now....and I'm still licking my bowl clean...three times a day!

Dad's been busy pawing around in the dirt...and I've been laying on the deck watching him.  We make a pretty good team...and we seem to get a lot done.

Well, I see it's my nap time...chow for now!!
