No Place Like Home!

We arrived home with Schatzi and as you can see, she has quite an incision! Her procedure not only was performed to remove extruded disc material, but the disc space was also fenestrated. She had a bite of supper and a couple pees & is comfortably being snuggled.

Oskar and Xena have been suffering with diareah and vomiting, so it has been a busy 24 hours. Thankfully, the worst seems to be over.

A sincere thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers, telephone calls, emails and a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful posts to our blog!

Welcome home sweet Schatzi! Even though we haven't met you in person, we feel like we know you already and we're sending lots of positive thoughts your way. Just remember - things WILL get better. Also, ask your humans to wrap you up in warm towels or laundry that's fresh from the dryer. That was one of Greta's favorite comforts when she was recuperating from spinal surgery in 2007...

Schatzi, we are sooooo happy that you are home and resting comfortably with your family!

Hopefully your other pups will get well soon so your mom can relax a little bit.

So glad Schatzi is home, I know she must be so happy too! Her incision looks just like Sam's when he had surgery. I know she will do just fine now that the worst is over.
Sending good thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery!

Welcome Home Schatzi.
That is a very large incision that looks painful. Lets hope the recovery passes quickly & is uneventful. Hope the other doxies are feeling better.
